Volunteer

The following volunteer positions need to be filled within the KCA. Experience is not necessary, but you should be responsible and able to meet important deadlines if needed. Brief descriptions of each position are listed below. Many positions require several people to assist, so if you cannot take full responsibility please consider assisting. Contact any Board member or Committee Chair if you are interested or have any questions about any of the positions available.

Fundraising Committee

The KCA Board would like to establish a fundraising committee. The Board agrees with the Treasurer’s approach that all KCA activities should pay for themselves. But this approach means the KCA is left with little money for worthwhile functions that don't generate revenue, such as AKC delegate's attendance at quarterly meetings, paying for KQ subscription to the AKC library, health committee activities, etc.

Board members are looking for a good candidate to chair such a committee, and for other members who would be interested in serving on it.

The Board has recently received several suggestions for fundraising activities, and has generated some of its own. So the Committee would be starting with some ideas that could be executed, if you think they have merit. We will also consider whether we want to earmark at least a portion of the money raised for particular needs.

If you would be interested in serving on this committee, please send an email to our Vice President at vicepres@kuvasz.com. She will learn more about you, and then make a recommendation to the Board for a Committee Chair and members.

This is a perfect opportunity to have some creative fun on behalf of your Club, to get better acquainted with some of your fellow members, and to serve a real need that the Club has. Please consider giving this committee your support.

Health Committee

The Health Committee is seeking to expand it's membership to those individuals who have a practical or demonstrated interest in health issues of dogs in general and Kuvasz in particular whether it be traditional medicine, alternative medicine, or other area of interest (professional or hobby/human or canine) which knowledge would benefit the committee as a whole. Having a personal veterinarian who is willing to offer suggestions or opinions is of great benefit. This is not a high volume e-mail committee, but there are times involving various projects where the volume can be significantly increased. A Kuvasz owner seeking Health Committee help, usually requires quick responses.
